All right, everybody, that is a song from Journey, and I bet you thought it was Journey. But guess what right here at Radio ninety nine ninety nine, never mind, you are hanging at banging right here with the show come back to the eighties and you are hanging at banging with Toscano and Chang. We're gonna get back into some more music like that, and we're gonna tell you about that banning. Guess what. It's not Journey. It's almost like you're in a room all by yourself telling yourself to meet nothings. But hey, I'm in a room and I'm with my best friend and we're not talking about sweeting nothing. I'm gonna give it to my right hand man, my Keebo Sabby as he rides along the radio micro both mister Tusky Toscato, what a brother? That's right? This is your head taco coming at you. And I bet, as my fellow man here just said, I bet your bottom dollar that you thought it was Journey, but no it wasn't. It's a band called Hindley Street Country Club. They're Australian. What did he go that? Bat? You know, mate, I'll tell you right now, man, a couple of dingos and dingos and lingos and online, Well, there's only one place you could hear songs like that. That's right. Right now, we're taking a trip. I want you to settle up, strap out your seat belt, get a cool drink, because we're taking a ride and we're all going back to the eighties with Toscato with Jack loves one points. Welcome aboard, everybody. This is the one and only back to the eighties. This is Toscano and I've got the ever so wondrous, the ever so fat ul is the man of a thousand faces, although always wears but only one, the infamous or famous the Chang? Who ya, how you doing? How's everybody hanging? How is your world spinning today, ladies and gentlemen. That's right, you were hanging a bag with Tiscontodi Chang. And we are going to take you on a trip that is going to be kind of like you're under the influence of something, but you maybe or you maybe not. We are going to take you deep into music. But the music we are going to play, of course, is great music. We all here in the eighties grew up listening to it. But these are from cover bands. That's right, I didn't stutter, tiscono did I stutter? You did not? I do want to let you guys know that this is back to the eighties. We're introducing the eighties to a whole new generation. And we're also reminding you to go to our Facebook page, go to our Patreon, help us stay on the air. Oh don't forget that during these times of challenges in crisis and manifestations and whether it be para normal or normal or we need to go back to the eighties. And that's the reason why we're doing this show. And so I just want to thank you guys for joining us on a wonderful and beautiful Friday today. Yes, so today is a very special day. We're going to take you guys back to the eighties by looking at cover bands. These cover bands are actually they're modern cover bands, but they're going to be taking us on a real journey, not just the band, on a real journey back to the age or in the decade of decadence. So stick around, we're going to be right back. There's more back to the eighties, more to Skanawan Chang. Oh, it's gonna be awesome. You're listening to back to the eighties, remember boy George, Well, oh, I mean either you are back with Tiscano and Chang and we are now in the world that is gone crazy. That's right. We are back to the eighties, in the eighties for the eighties. Long live the eighties, and remember give us a shout out on our Facebook page. Eighties ladies, you're welcome. Eighties dudes, you're welcome, and anybody else after hit us right back. Now we're talking about cover bands. Now, some of you out there are going to be floored, I mean totally floored to the max when you hear some of these bands, because cover bands sometimes do such an exceptional job it almost puts you right back in that stadium with that band. And I speak for myself and Tiscano, both of us have witnessed cover bands that totally blew us off the face of the earth. We're going to talk about some of them. And hey, have you've gone out and you've seen some cover bands, and you've got some names, and you want to chime in. Hit us back as soon as you can, however you can with some of your stories of one of your favorite cover bands. You know, I think it's so important for us to dedicate a whole show to cover bands because a lot of these cover bands, I mean, yeah, they're doing their stuff on YouTube and a lot of them are performing at local venues, but they don't get all the credit that they really deserve. These are these are old style musicians, musicians that know the importance of a great gig. You know, They're dedicated to their craft and they bring out what a lot of our favorite bands used to do when they first started. And now because of money, maybe because of the age, mostly because of the age, but these guys are doing what they used to do from the heart, you know, they're really doing they're really doing the music justice. And so today we want to dedicate this show to these cover bands. And Chang, I know that you're a huge, huge metal fan, and so in your honor, Bro, in your honor, I want us to go back to the eighties. It's brought to us by the band Geeks. You can go on YouTube look them up. They're called the band Geeks, and these are a great group of guys and they sound well. Listen for yourself. But this is in honor of you, Chang, and Oh, by the way, at the end of what we're going to be playing. I want you to tell me what year was this song written? Oh? Testing the old Chang this early on a Friday. Yeah, don't forget, of course not all right, here we go. Are you ready? Chang? I am born ready, I'm a battle god shit, Holy time, you've been down too long in the middle night scene? What's becoming of me? Right the time? You can see his stress, but you know he's clean. Oh don't you see what I mean? You gotta get away, Holy Diver. Now, as I mentioned to you, this band is called the band Keys, but check out their clean sound. You look out risk for the moring. You can hide in the sun till you see the lights. All we will pray. All right, gotta get away, get away. There has a truth that hot yea, the vision never letsom never. Holy Diver. So this song Holy Diver? What year do you think that it was released? On it? Well, everybody should know that this is the late great Ronnie James Deal, formerly of Rainbow and Black Sabbath thing. I believe this came out either an eighty three or eighty four. I think it's closer to eighty three. Me and my best friend now, now get this. We went to see them at the Sports Arena, the Deal band, and we had four seats, so Ronnie James Deal was actually giving us the horns to me and my best friend Raymie b Yeah. Bro, And by the way, you got the answer right. It was nineteen eighty three. That was a year I graduated from high school. No, that's right, that's right. This was released May twenty fifth, nineteen eighty three, by Warner Brothers. The album was Deal as well. Yeah, this was his first solo album, and I thought this was probably some of his greatest work. As you mentioned to the listeners, I am quite the rock god. My whole entire life has been around music. Every bit of my like every memory I have, I have a certain type of music or a song that plays. It's almost like if my memory was a movie and I have to have a soundtrack. It's all about the rock now with Deal, this album was phenomenal. I mean with Vivian Campbell on guitar, which is sad because he only was there for two albums and then he was fired from the band. We can get into that on another show, on another time. But I remember when you sent me this link to these guys. I was floored now his lyrics. Of course, no one I don't think could get to the range that Dio did. But they did a really damn bang up job covering this song. Yeah, they they did a great, great job on vocals and guitar Richard Castellano and then Jared Pressman on vocals. And when Danny Miranda on bass, Andy asked, lease, I hope I didn't kill your name, Andy, but he was on drums. So yeah, check out the band Geeks when you get a chance, because they paid tribute to the master himself, Ronnie James Deal with a cover of Holy Diver, Holly Diver. Now, quick story out. I told you before I had the privilege and the blessing to meet Ronnie James DIO and now get this at a Tesla concert backstage, I was able to get backstage. A long story short, A friend of mine got is backstage. Me and my my buddy Matt Al which you know formerly of Wicked Ralish. He's the listener, my best friend. We got to meet Big Al. What's cracking you, fool? Back in Riverside. Now, when we met Dio, you're gonna trip on this now, Al told Ronnie James. He goes, hey, this is my buddy, chang right here. Guy's a stand up comic guys, funny nose rock guy sings he can sing Heaven and Hell. And you know, Ronnie goes, let's hear you. And I said, wow, mister Deal, First of all, I don't want to dissect that song in front of you. And he goes, no, my name is Ronnie, and come on, you're a metal guy, have no fear. Let me hear you. So I sang the first couple of of lines of Heaven and Hell. Gave me an applause. We sat down. I think we had conversed with him, maybe about two to three hours. And the funny thing is it was we discussed rock and roll, We discussed music and one other thing that you would not expect. A group of heavy metal guys drinking mixed drinks talking smack to a famous rock and we talked about We talked about fatherhood. So the conversation I had with Rodney James Deal will be something I never forget. It added a lot of wisdom and it just makes a great story. I could have been one of these wishy, washy little worse. He's an acid for for an autograph, but no, you know the chang I'm not going to No. I mean, this is something you're gonna take in your heart to the day you die. My friend. That that is, I mean, that is some experience right there. And I think if I would have busted out and acted like a typical fan and ask for an autograph, it would have been cheesy. It would have ruled that special moment. He treated me as an individual. I treated him as an individual. Oh you know what I mean. He saw past said, hey, this guy's not famous. I saw past. This guy's famous. Although it was very hard because this guy I idolized growing up, you know, he's one of my favorite musicians. But it was just great to have a person to person conversation with somebody in the likes of a metal god like Rob James. Deal, all right, so we're moving on now. We're gonna be going all over as far as genres are concerned. So we did a little bit of metal just to honor you, of course, but we're gonna take it. We're gonna take it down a notch and we're actually gonna go with a band that is also from Australia. It's the same band that we played in the beginning of the show. And this song is I Keep Forgetting. That was original thinking by Michael McDonald if you guys don't remember. Michael McDonald released the song in nineteen eighty two, which, by the way, we also won a Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for this particular song I Keep Forgetting. Now, this band a great, great band. They are great at mastering. Whoever does their mastering and they're producing is just a phenomenal But so this is a track if you don't mind me jumping in real quick. This is a track after he was a member of the Dubie Brothers. Correct right, well. The Hindley Street Country Club produced this cover from Michael McDonald, which is I Keep Forgetting, and it's being sung by a young lady on lead vocals. Her name is Sarah Lloyd bass, which I believe is the either the band leader or the band producer. And the keyboardist, which I think is the main guy. His name is Dave Ross. On guitarist James Mueller keyboard and vocals Darren Mullen, and on drums is a very special person by the name of Mario Marino. Marie's name, great name. It's like it's Mario, just got it. Let me give you a little taste of the Henley Street Country Club that you can also find on YouTube with this incredible cover with I key forgetting not the same forget him, Okay, forget it. Now. She's got some pipes on her, She's got some pipe but man, instrumentally, I mean, I mean they're just they're nameling it. I mean, no note for note, the same same speed, uh, same key, you know, I mean, wow, the only thing that does throw you off because you know it isn't Michael McDonald. You don't hear movie, you know the way that he had that kind of a voice. But man, she's got some that that soul urban soul voice. But but she does the song, the song Justice. I just had to throw this particular song in with her just to give it a little change and to make us understand that even though the song was written and sung by a man, she can carry the notes. Yeah, yeah, a woman can do this song Justice. Believe me that. Yeah. That. So, if you're interested in looking up this band, they're called the Hindley Street Country Club. The Hindley Street Country Club once again This is back to the eighties. I am Toscano from Tscanno Win Chang talking about cover bands covering the songs from that age of decadents. This is back to the eighties. We're gonna be right back to Don't Go Away. I'm Captain Loggin signor Ronald Cruise. You're listening to back to the eighties. So you want to make a podcast. This is Tiskanawd Chain with you. We are talking about cover bands as they cover songs from the Golden Age. That's not the Golden Age. Of rock. But it's the golden age of pretty hair metal bands. Oh god, that is the number one thing that killed metal prettiness. But you know what, I'm not going to be a judge. I'm not going to be a hater. Please don't away. I'm going to skate away from that. Although today we're not only talking about pretty hair metal band covers. We're talking we're going all across the board. And while we while we were on break, I told you that there's this specific band that I wanted to talk to you about that they are from Russia, Mother Russia. I see, yeah, yeah, and we're gonna be and we're gonna be playing them in a little bit. But let's take a big ginormous turn and uh to talk about this following artist. His name is Jason Derlatka. He sounds Russian's Jason Derlatca. You know, he's a he's a man the scenes and plays the piano. Look okay he does. But anyway, he does a great cover of Chicago and uh yeah, and this is a song that was originally released in nineteen eighty two. So this is Peter Sata's Chicago. The more of a loved kind of theme Satera went with that is yeah, and just wait till you hear this and tell me what you think. Now. This is Jason playing the piano. By the way, Oh yeah, everybody meets a little time away. Wow, good from each even MoMA's need to high the day fun away from me, child, it's hard for me to say I'm sorry, I do this. What you stay after that? We even dru I will make get up to you. I promised to. Now. This is the tribute to Chicago and David Foster, and it's featuring Adrian Woods on cello, Trev Lacather on guitars, and Josh Divine on drums. That I think he did a really nice job on that cover. Oh you know, first of all, it's not my favorite to Chicago. I'm not a big fan of once Peter Sata took over. But no, please don't tell me that. Are you serious? You're not Peter. I will love I will take I like Peter Sata when he would just play sing background and play the bass. But I mean, I'm old school. I'm old school. Give me the seventies Chicago twenty five, six to four. You know I'm a man. You give me that type of Chicago and I'm gonna rock and oh but my goodness. But you know, Peter Satera, you know, And I don't want to be a hater, but I'm gonna say uh as for the chang. I was not really into the softer temple kind of love, but so much love in my rock music. That's kind of why I took a little jab at Michael McDonald because now these guys, here comes the King. No, no, Shane is me. But I mean I listened to these guys when they were in their previous bands and it was rocking, you know what I mean. It was good classic rock, some hard rock. But it seems like when original members kind of go astray and they bring in these big name guys who have great voices, the whole format of the band kind of change. And to me, Satara's got a great voice, don't get me wrong, great bass player, original in that band, but he just took it to a point to where it's like, you hear that song and then you're gonna hear this. Hi, this is John Sykes and you're listening to love. That's right. Twenty four hours, twenty four seven Love Music. This next song goes out to Candice from Bill this is well, look, there is a there is a market for everything. Just because it's not your favorite, we can't beat it down. No, I'm not. Plus I'm not. And I think I got into Peter Satara when I used to go to the dentist. They used to play Peter Cetera a lot when I was a kid. See that's where I remember Michael McDonald and Peter sat in an elevator in a doctor's office. Yeah, they don't. They don't want you to feel the pain on your teeth. Here's a little bit of of Peter Cetera, you know. And I would sit there and they're cleaning my mouth and I'm going alright. He was like, what's up with And I was like, you mentioned that you were more into Chicago in the seventies, and although this is this is not a seventies show, just just for you. No, I'm gonna play just a little bit of this cover band that I told you about. They're called Leonid and Friends, but the guy's name is Leonid Orbiyev. All right, check it out and tell me what you think. Here we go, where do you fall the freak? Do you fall something to say? Oh, yeah, oh yeah, stopped myself cross. That is that nails Leonid and friends? What do you think of that cover? That's good stuff, right, I told you, I told you. Unfortunately, I couldn't use that song because that song is a seventies song. It's the seventy I believe that song is seventy six. I believe you're probably right. I didn't look that one. Me and you were me and me and you were looking at that band automatically they would have got the big lighter from the old They would have got a big lighter and a half from me. Man. When I heard this, dude, that was that was you know this is a cover. But once again, we're only if you just joined us on back to the eighties. We're talking about cover bands as they cover eighties music. But you'll be surprised there are cover bands today that are so good and not only are they good at playing, but whoever is producing them, whatever member of the band or maybe somebody else who's producing these on YouTube, is just phenomenal. Can you do you remember back then in the eighties when if you want to, like if you got up and you did you did a song with some friends in the garage or anything. And when we recorded, we recorded onto cassette with a with a portable cassette player, and to us it sounded great because we're listening to each other on a cassette. But now what we can do is just amazing. Right, Oh yeah, dude, you know, uh, real quick, a couple of great cover bands I want to throw out there real quick. Anybody in southern California that is of the metal liking as myself, You've got to check out a cover band of Metella called called Damage Ink. Those guys are phenomenal. There's another band that does a cover of Judas Priests and it is called Just Like Priests, another dynamic band. So Damage Damage is for Metallica, for Metallica. What's the one Priests? Just Like Priest does Judas Priest. Now there is another band that when I saw these guys, I could have sworn bond. Scott came down from the heavens or came up from Hell, took off his shirt and he took control. The band was called Good. A band was called Bonfire. I have never seen anything that has taken me like that, except for I will say I saw Corey Stevens when he would do a cover of Stevie Ray Vaughan that made the hair on my hair freaking stand on my head. I was blown away. Well, one of the greatest things that is happening today because of the Internet. So this is one of the things that I can tell you is positive of living in twenty twenty, and that is because we have the ease of access this. You know, the world has become smaller, it has united people from all over the world, and now we have access to other musicians where we would have never had in the past. And one of those here is a group. And you know this group because the lead singer is all. I'm not gonna say anything. All I'm gonna say is the band's name is Cerchin and zerits Kaya. And here's a little something from Kiss. It's called I Was Made for Loving You I'm not. And there's much show now this band. As we're listening to them, I mean, there's only one word to kind of give you the detailed description of them, and that's wow. That's yeah. I mean, if you're a guy, you're gonna you're gonna realize why, but yeah, it's bottom line, Yeah, And these are these are here's here's what is awesome about this band. They're doing covers from the eighties and and even before then. And these these this band are millennials. That's what's incredible and about the power of music that you can flick the switch to hit the circuit of anybody at any given time, at any age, and it's going to hook you just like a fish, reel you in and then you're pretty much in the ocean of music, by brother, the ocean of rocket roll. Now this now, when you say lend me the link. I listened to the song and I I needed a cult shower and a cigarette after. I mean, that's how I was like, Wow, yeah, now where you saw it too? Right? Wow? For a minute, I thought, man, what it would be like to be twenty five single with all four of them in a hotel room sing to me, spank me, do what you will? Oh, I will take another pill of that, my brother. They're awesome. You know what. This is one cover band that I would literally yeah, And you know what is awesome When you have female cover bands and they cover a male band, that is extraordinary. But it actually what it does, it kind of enhances the song to a little bit to where it might be a little bit more easier for a younger generation or somebody else that was not a fair weathered friend to that original band. Right, Yeah, I think that's what they're trying to do as well. And by the way, I want to go back to a comment I just said I just made where I said I would actually pay any of one of these cover bands. I would actually pay to go see because they're just that phenomenal, not just these two people or this whole band that I just mentioned because of who they are, what they look like. But oh yeah, I would I would pay to see any one of these, any one of these. Now there's another female band that's out right now and they are called the Iron Maidens. Now, this is an all female group that does attribute to the great Iron Maidens. That's a great show, and you know what, they're all pretty smoking to metal Chase Baby. We love them all. I think I've seen it. Now, following up on the Hindley Street Country Club band, We're gonna be touching on this band again a couple more times. And the reason for that is because, as I mentioned to you previously, this is one of the bands that the band itself stays the same, but they always get a different lyricist or a different singer or a different front person to sing depending on the cover they're doing, because they sound very close to the voice, although sometimes they do get for example, if it's if it's a female singer, though sometimes get a guy. If it's a guy singer, they'll get a girl vice versa. Things like that. I'm gonna take you back to the eighties right now. They did something right now during Quarantine. Now once again they're playing together again. But this is when Quarantine had first. You remember when when they told everybody stay home around the world and they started doing stuff via zoom and things like that. Check out, check out what they did. This is the Henley Street Country Club with his eighties hit, Oh man, I remember this tune was hard as g my h inside across the sea into my soul, which is sent somewhere that cannot hide, sitting my feet up on the road, part as old as both my boy about it burnt with him lightly swept between the souls of bushings, where I finds some fucking that I must travel the darkness of the night. Mister, mister cover man, carry what do you think of that one? Yes? Now, I think they probably sound better than the originals that they got back. That's exactly what I thought. I even commented on this, and there's a lot of people saying, you guys sing it better than the originals, better than the mister mister, And you know what, I don't even like the name mister mister. Great cover on a not only if you liked the song, but a great cover to a great song. I've always liked this particular song from mister. I think I've only liked two songs from them. They're the ones that the only ones that I think that they played on the radio. But this is this was definitely one of them. And they did such a great mastering job on this, and they all recorded in their homes. Like I said, this was done during the quarantine or nice. They did a bang bang up job rolled. I mean, man, that is a chang bang version right there. I mean, you know what, It wasn't my cup of tea back in the eighties, but I did like this one song. But these guys, I mean, they just nailed it. Right from the start of the song, I was already like whoa, and then when he came in, it was like wow, nailing it now, I must say when the song was on, when it first started and you could hear the guitar work in the background, yeah, I was kind of more reminiscent of I don't know if anybody out there remembers. I don't think you would a guy named Michael Schenker. Yeah, of course. I was already kind of thinking the guitar to me sounded something along that bass. But then when it went into this, I was like, wow, right on, Yeah, nice, they nailed it. Yeah, yeah, they nailed it all right. I would like to go see these guys and never see mister mister again. You know. For some reason, I don't know why the chain came through with the hating at the end, is there. I think there's a trend. I think there's a trend going on right there. Anyway, this is back to the eighties. When we come back, there's more hating, non chains part don't go away. Oh hate hate hate, I hate you, and I hate you and I hate you. If you can't wear a spandex jumpsuit, what can you do? This back to the eighties When we thought the eighties were lane, that's because we had lifts through this decade. Yet you're listening to back to the eighties. That's right, ladies and gentlemen, this is back to the eighties, and this is the time of the show where we talk about what made us angry back in the eighties, And in honor of the most infamous chang we've called them changres. So chang what made you changery back in the eighties? Yes? Do you know what made me changry back in the eighties? Being called the hater? Do you know what got me changery back to the eighties? Put that in your plan. People who thought boy George was a guy, sorry, was a girl. Ah, you know what gets me changry back in the eighties? What being so hammered? I hit on the guy from Poison, Fred Michaels. I thought he was a belove. She was blonde, and I made an improper reference and I made him upset. He was changry. You know what got me changry back in the eighties? That the transformation of skin color of Michael Jackson throughout at me. Ah, wow, you know what got me changry back in the eighties. What's that? Guys that didn't wear socks and wore white leather jacket. You know what got me changry back in the eighties. What's that, brother ruckers that wore their jeans so tight they couldn't sit down. You know what got me changry in the eighties, having to make a dollar to take the hand in on a lot of those rockers pans from those pansies. You know what got me changery back in the eighties. What's that? My brother frad house guys that tucked down and talk bad about rock music. You know what got me angry back in the eighties? Changers that Wally girls, Oh my god, look at this. Harry's got split hands, grass Caglee with the thing. I wouldn't go down on him if he paid me by got me changer and that ladies and gentlemen has been this week's changers. Wow, there's a lot of stuff I just realized that made us chun angry about the eight I think some of the things in the eighties that got me changry are a scar. It's like looking at that scar tissue, you know, every now and then you want to scratch it and dig it out so you can get rid of it, But it stays there, and it grows bigger. All right, So if you if you've just tuned into back to the eighties and this madness, this is just kinda win Chang with you. We were talking about cover bands and the songs that they are covering from back in the day that had great, great music. Now I'm going to be honoring you one more time, Chang, because with this next song by the Band Geeks, they have a special guest singer Mike Terrelli. Once again, this is the band by Richie Castellano called the Band Geeks, and here's a special song that I hope you guys will like. And I'm going to let Chang tell me what the band is, the name of the song, and maybe what year it was written or release. Here we go, put me on the fire again. Misty morning on me. Every time we lost the rising sun, we find the side, have the misty morning. We're all away to die. We change far the stars, We flybe the sky, we sail the proster. We call the fly. We thought that it were flying across. All right, what do you think of that cover? So tell me what we know? The cover band is the band Geeks, and I want you to tell me the name of the song the name of the band and possibly the year was released. Now this is from the late great Ronnie James deal when he fronted The Great Black Sabbath. Yeah, this is uh misty, this is misty morning. And I believe it came out. I want to say nineteen eighty or eighty one. Uh, it was one of the name you're close of the year the year. You got the year down. But how about children of the Children of the Sea. That is correct, Chang stands to be correct at Children of the Sea, that's right. I was what a what a great cover man, and what a great singer. This guy's a great dude. He nails it, you know. And this guy nails deal right here, he just nails Check this out. A great cover by the band Geeks Children of the Sea with Mike Trelli. That gets the old. Yes, I think it's the cowbell. That's right, bro, we need more cowbell, was said in SNL if you remember that skit absolutely Now the song was released in nineteen eighty. I think you said in nineteen eighty, right, Yeah, so it was released in nineteen eighty and once again, that was from the album Heaven and Hell from Black Sabbath Man, They're just when you can cover a song that is so good that it makes the original sound. I mean that you remember, you go wow, this is the reason I love the song. This is the reason I love the band. When a cover band can do that, look out man, because that's that's a great band. Exactly when a cover band will put that same kind of lump in your throat, that loss of air, or the feeling you get in your chest, and that smile you get in your face. When a cover bank can do that, you know that cover band is gold. You know that they have sparked something that is very hard to spark in people, you know. And that version nailed it. Dude, that's a great version. And like to our listeners talking about a deal really quickly, this was made in eighty and now do you realize And in eighty three he came out with Holy Diver. So you can see the length of time that he spent with Black Sabbath as opposed to leaving on his own with Deal. Now, Deal did come back to Black Sabbath and they created you know, they came back together. Now Ausie and Sharon stepped in suit him, so they had to change the name to heaven and hell. Right, that's some rock and roll trivia right there for you all. That's pretty good. That's pretty good, man, that's why you are here, my friend, thank my brother mus himself. Going back to the cover band, the Hindley Street Country Club, here's one. We're gonna lower the temple a little, okay, And I want you to take a listen to this beauty here spending on my nuts, on my money, going out on the tide. Do it just to get you off my mind. But when the morning comes back where I started again and trying to be good, she was just doing to tide, you can see that was now the Hiley Street Country Club band is a member of You know, these guys are are older, these are you know, they range there. I think there's maybe one he looks like a millennial, but the rest the rest around our age and these guys are eighties, guys that have been musicians forever and been influenced by all the grades and and you can tell because when they're playing that that feelings and you know what, bro something that we we just don't have nowadays is feeling in the music exactly. There's very few artists today very few. I'm not saying none, I'm saying very few artists today that are genuinely musicians that produced music with their heart and they with their soul, and this is the result. I agree and you and you know I agree with everything you said. It is true. But you notice that more with the singers. You know that if you you flipped your radio doll or whatever you listen to and you try to get into some of the new uh newer bands, they just don't capture that bite that most singers held i'd say back into the eighties, even into the nineties, but from the seventies. And it's funny that we're talking about this because yes, great cover bands are all older musicians from our era, and it's it's it's interesting because they have that same vibe and the same hunger that the great bands that they are covering and paying tribute to had, and I think that's what comes out in the music. That's when you get a really great cover band. You get a group of musicians who know their craft and feel that song from their heart into their fingertips and they bring it out with a bang. This is a mallower song, but these guys nailed it. These guys actually feel the same exact way as the artist made the song. That's what I'm getting out of it. Yeah, and that's why I brought these to light on our show, because these are these are bands that normally, unless you're looking for cover bands that you'll run into them on YouTube, you won't ever find out about these guys. No, and and and we need we need these guys. We need these people to continue the legacy of others and hopefully also produce themselves, you know, original music. But man, you know a lot of these bands they don't They a lot of these cover bands that are excellent, they don't want to do their own stuff and they just want to continue keeping alive the stuff that we grew up with. And you know what, I commend them for that because they're denying themselves that originality of bringing something different. But at the same time, they're doing it so darn well. They're doing that the cover so well that it just you know what, it's a it's a breath of fresh air, Yes it is. And you know what is similar. I'm gonna have to pat ourselves on the back, but I think me and you have that same feeling about our show that we're doing now, some of our shows that we've done in the past, and yeah, I'm gonna let out the bag shows we're going to come out and do in the future. I think me and you kind of have that spark of what was yesteryear. We get that vibe. It gives us that emotion. Although we're not singing or anything, but both of us, you know, both of us do have musical talents, but we get it. We get that vibe, and what we're trying to do here is give it to people again, but in the radio format, so where they we take them back to make them feel the same exact way they did when they listen to something similar to you and me exactly. I agree. You know, radio isn't the same as it once was, and that's why we're here because it doesn't mean it can't be. And there's always that There's always that group of people, and that is you that is listening right now, that wants to keep that alive. You know, I told my kids, just because records stopped selling as much as they used to, vinyls, I mean, and cassents, and it doesn't mean you can't go out and buy some and do it yourself. And that's what I'm trying to teach my kids as well. All right, So I saved the best for last, my friend, I saved the best for last because our next segment, you know, we have a couple of special guests that I think you guys are gonna enjoy. We're gonna welcome them back. The Love Doctors are back, by the way, and so stay tuned, Stay tuned. But I've left the best cover for last. Now this is a live now I left I left this for last because it's my personal favorite. And this this No it's not Whitney, but this is a song that was released in nineteen eighty four. It was recorded in eighty three, released in nineteen eighty four. All I'm gonna mention is the album name you're gonna know, but maybe not too many others are gonna know. The album was called The Works. Ah Yes, And this song is a live version, and I'm gonna let you hear it, all right, this particular song is one of my favorites. The audience starts singing, now, remember this is not the original singer. Just keep that in mind. I want you retreat from your lives, your soul. I want you give it. Yeah, I've fallen. Fall is just phenomenal, No, isn't it just a phenomenal that we could I mean, we could enjoy this voice today. It's fresh, it's living, and it's got the same vibrato, it's got the same soul as the great Freddie Mercury. And this is the one and only Mark Martel. Oh, this guy is fricking phenomenal. I remember when I first stumbled upon this cat too. I I sat there in front of the screen with my with with tears running from my eyes, my mouth opened and all i could say was a four letter word. And I'm not going to repeat that here. Yeah, but yep, absolutely, I mean every time I hear him, it just it just it takes me back to that time when I was cracking on Queen, you know, back at home, back in my car, or it just to me. Queen is probably one of the greatest, the greatest rock and roll band I think from the UK industry. Yeah, yep, absolutely, they're also into me, say rich you ow dare you forgot your Queen? And this is the song we're gonna let you listen to. As we hit on into break to Rag, we are the doctors. I am Doctor love Weapon. Then joining me to my right or maybe to my left, whichever works for you, is doctor Keith. Sweet doctor, how are you? I'm doing absolutely fantastic, doctor, how are you? Haven't seen you since? So we took the elevator right up to our office. Hopefully all you lovers and haters out there are doing well today. Now we have something new. Now, Doctor love Weapon, do you want to go ahead and start off our notes this fine day? Today we're going to be reading short, little, fantastic, fantastic, short, little breakup notes. Normally we normally we read love hate letters, but today I love it. We're going to be reading breakup boes. This following breakup note comes from Carl to Missy and he sent her a lovely text as he broke up with her and says, hey, baby, did you hear about that new movie called Other People? And Missy replied nah, sweetie, and he says, well that's what I want and he's he says, well, baby, that's what I want to see. Ah, we understand. We're so sorry Missy you had to go through that break up text in that way. What do you think, doctor, Oh, I think that guy's a cad but rather smooth the way he put that out there, because this national can via posted. And this was this was to put on a pink posted note and it has been given to us by a Maria. And Maria's posted note was posted on her twenty ten Volkswagen and it came from her boyfriend Sean, and it simply read this, Dear Maria, you need to be like the trees and leave. Don't you find it interesting? That's just interesting the way. That's very hap. Sometimes it's better just to leave a note like the following one that that was written. This was yes, please doctor continue, please continue from Jamie to his does she have a gun? No? This is actually a young man by the name of Jamie and writes starts to Karen and he says, Karen, Karen, loneliness maybe, but I'm okay now I'll see you then I suppose we can talk as friends. So this is goodbye. Maybe someday I'll see you at a table in a restaurant in France. Perhaps we'll both be in our future families and we'd smile and a wave, but go our separate ways. Please have a good life. And Karen responded by the way, she said, did you just use a Batman movie reference in your breakup line? Jamie responded by saying, sorry, Ah, that I would. I'd like to ask both of them this question, have you ever danced under the light of the palemon light? And yet so way do they get a load of me? Ah? Yes? I have one more note and this This note was written to Kyle and it came from his boyfriend Taz. I don't know if he was named after the Tasmanian devil, but Taz could be close to Jazz. And he read this, Dear sir, please do not contact me, look for me, stop me. I'm running away with your father. Love Daz. That's harsh and dark. That that is dark. I was I was going to ask you, does what do you think? Taz and Kyle's dad ran off to We'll have to ask that. This next little, very short note I'll have to read too in a row because this one is very short. It's from from please do from Mark to Valerie. He says, dear Valerie, ohing. He drew it on a hosted note. He's got a lovely picture of her as a happy face, face down sad with an axe to her head and says, dear Valerie, get out of my life. Oh that was a short one. The next one we have is from de LANDREI to Crystal. De Landry to Crystal says I'm bored. I'm breaking up with you. Ps. Happy anniversary though one month. Okay, you know it's not always that you celebrate anniversaries, and Delandre has really showed it to her. Do you mind, doctor if I read a couple more? No, please do. I am I'm enchanted with the diversity of our our notes that I am enchanted with the uncousness and uncare that some of these uh, these individuals lay out on the line. Please continue. This next one comes from Cheryl to Brian and she says to him in a text, Hey Brian, do you want to see a magic trick? And he says sure hon, She says poof you're single, He says, want to see a better one? Or actually let me do you just start that one over? So? Here we go, Here we go, Here we go, Hold on, here we go, Here, here we go. Brian writes to Cheryl and he says, I want to see a magic trick and she says sure hon. He says poof, you're single, she says, want to see a better one. He says sure, She says, poof, I'm pregnant with your child. And the last one is from Rick, from Rick to April, and he says, it's been fun, Doctor, it's been fun, doctor who girl? But after rigorously she's a brief overview of your prob Doctor. Wanted to let you know that I have already married and divorced you in my mind. Thanks for thanks for all the wonderful imaginary memories. I always have a place in my heart your ex Greg. Ps. You keep the cat, I'll keep the house in Hawaii. Ah oh, doctor, that is brutal. But first of all, I want to apologize for Chang's outbursts. I don't understand. I don't understand what you meant. Tuscano are doing in the room. They're not supposed to be in here. We made them tea and they're not in there. They're in here and they're just ruining our vibe. Could you fellows please step outside, yes, please stay out anyway, doctor doctor sweet. That's that's all the notes I have for this week. Thank you to all our fans. But all we can suggest to those people both the people who were left and the people who did the leaving. We want to just encourage you to find yourselves, find yourselves better people as you continue this journey. Shall we go, doctor, Let us go? I do, And I especially want to thank you guys for joining us today as we talked about cover bands, the great cover bands that take us back to the eighties and just keep that legacy, the field, the soul and the music alive in our hearts and mind, especially nowadays that we needed so much. So just thank you, thank you for joining us a change, Thanks for being with me on this crazy train of madness that is back to the eighties. Oh well, my brother, you know, there would be no other place than I would rather be than right here beside you, talking smack talking radio and making people feel a hell of a lot better than they were feeling before they went ahead and pressed play. Yeah. You know, we we we've gone through several months where we didn't know what was going on on with society and with our world. So go ahead and keep joining us every single Friday as we introduce the eighties, that great decade back to a whole new generation that needs to find out what we were all about. And if it does, you, God darn guarantee that Tiscano and Chang will be around to turn that frown upside down. So I want you all to release you to a great weekend.
